The existence of an unknown flying object or UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) is still a mystery. Some people believe that UFOs exist, but there are others who don’t. Well, here are some of the UFO sightings that have made headlines.
UFO on Mount Rainier, United States
This UFO was seen by a pilot named Kenneth Arnold on June 24, 1947. He saw 9 unidentified flying objects while passing Mount Rainier in the United States. The objects flew fast horizontally. So shocked, he could not identify what he saw. He said they flew like plates. The mass media then reported it as an object like a plate. Since then, the term flying plate is often used to refer to UFOs.
UFO in Oregon, United States
This UFO was seen in May 1950 by the couple Paul and Evelyn Trent in McMinnville, Oregon, United States. It was shaped like a metal disc flying at a slow speed. They had time to photograph the UFO. The photo was later printed in Life Magazine and various newspapers. The photo became the most famous UFO photo of the 1950s.
UFO at Artemio Franchi Stadium, Italy
This UFO was seen by all onlookers at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Tuscany, Italy. This UFO was seen during a football match between Fiorentina and Pistoiese on October 27, 1954. An unidentified flying object stopped directly above the stadium for about 15 minutes. The foreign flying object is oval in shape and silver in color.
UFO in Arequipa, Peru
This UFO was seen by a Sukhoi Su-22 pilot on April 11, 1980, in Arequipa, Peru. The pilot followed the foreign object and fired several rounds. However, the flying object seemed to be bulletproof. The foreign object kept flying and went away. The pilot said the color of the flying object was silvery and shone like an incandescent light bulb.

UFO in New Jersey, United States
On the evening of July 14, 2001, drivers on the highway in New Jersey, United States, claimed to have seen a UFO sighting. They saw several unidentified foreign objects that formed a V formation. The orange-yellow foreign object was seen by many witnesses who were on the road. In fact, Lieutenant Daniel Tarrant of the United States Police Department also witnessed the unidentified flying object.
UFOs in Melbourne, Australia
This UFO presence event occurred on April 6, 1966, in Melbourne, Australia. The unidentified flying object was seen by more than 200 students and teachers from two schools in the area. They saw a silver disc-shaped flying object that was about twice the size of the family car.
UFO at Manises Airport, Spain
A UFO was also seen on November 11, 1979, at Manises Airport, Valencia, Spain. The unidentified celestial body was seen by a pilot flying a commercial airplane. The pilot then decided to make an emergency landing at Manises airport, for fear of hitting a mysterious object that was in his flight path.
UFO off the coast of San Diego, United States
This UFO was seen by the crew of the Princeton ship off the coast of San Diego, United States, on November 14, 2004. The alien flying object hovered, then was seen falling into the Pacific Ocean. Two fighter jets were sent to track down the foreign object. From under the water appeared an oval-shaped object sliding out. The foreign object was moving very fast, exceeding the speed of the two fighter jets chasing it.
