Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense

Wah panjang namanya ya… ehe. Tense ini merupakan tense yang paling rumit dan paling jarang penerapannya. Past future perfect continuous tense adalah tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu peristiwa atau perbuatan yang akan telah sedang berlangsung di waktu yang akan datang di masa lampau. Oh iya, tense ini bersifat pengandaian atau asumsi, artinya adalah pelaku dalam kalimat tersebut hanya memberikan asumsi pada kalimat yang dinyatakan olehnya.

Rumus:

Positive (Verbal): S + would + have + been + Ving + Complement
Positive (Nominal): S + would + have + been + being + Adj/noun/adverb
Negative (Verbal): S + would + not + have + been + Ving + Complement
Negative (Nominal): S + would + not + have + been + being + Adj/noun/adverb
Interrogative (Verbal): Would + S + have + been + Ving + Complement
Interrogative (Nominal): Would + S + have + been + being + Adj/noun/adverb

Contoh:

  • If we had set the temperature properly, the water would have been flowing out to the river.
  • We would not have been going to the canteen to buy some snacks.
  • Would they have been working?

Notes:

  • Digunakan ‘have‘ sebagai auxiliary verb untuk segala jenis subjek.
  • Stative verb tidak dapat digunakan pada tense ini.
  • Keterangan waktu yang digunakan untuk tense ini adalah for, by next month, by the next year, by the end of this year, yesterday, all the time, etc.
  • Selain would, should juga dapat digunakan untuk menggantikan would dalam tense ini.

Penggunaan Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense

Untuk mengungkapkan pengandaian/asumsi (kalimatnya tidak bisa dinyatakan kebenarannya).

  • She would have been arriving fifteen minutes ago and now it’s too late He would not have been staying to live here for two years ago.
  • Aria should have been being a kind girl.
  • Should I not have been going to the cinema at that time when it rained?
